2013 Battery Issues?

Hi All,

I searched the forums and couldn't find anything. Anyone experience issues with their battery needing replacement? I was driving the other day and my sync screen just went black and then eventually came on again after a reboot cycle.

Then, that night, the car had a hard time turning over when starting, which became progressively worse.

I took to ford and they said a bad cell in battery and it needed to be replaced.

I checked all TSBs and none applied to my VIN.

Anyone else experience this? I just thought a battery should last a little longer for a 2013 car.

Not atypical for OEM batteries to last only 3 years in today's vehicles due to the constant demands put on them. Might have better luck with aftermarket brands, and those with higher rated CCAs than OEM.

My battery lasted roughly 3 years. Car was built in nov 2012, bought it in aug 2013, and died aug 2015. Had to be towed to ford, they replaced battery. All free of charge...warranty. Minus the huge ass inconvience due to wonderful timing. They always die at the worst possible time

I have had 2 batteries replaced since owning my car for just over a year. Both times they said it was a bad cell causing the battery to eat itself.

First time was ~4 months after buying, then 7 months later. They replaced both free of charge, but what a pain in the neck. first time I barely got the car out of the garage to get it towed to the dealer. Second time it would actually turn over after a jump so I was able to drive it there.

Every day I have a twinge of fear when pushing the start button, waiting for the clicks and nothing.

Motorcraft batteries, king? There have been quite we a few with bad cells, even the tough max ones. The advantage of dealer install is the 7 yr warranty.

Had mine replaced a month ago...warranty. Considering how hot it is here in Dallas, I was surprised I got almost 3 years out of it
