So my 2012 MKS EB turbos are in need of replacement, which I plan to do myself.

First off, I might be able to get access to a lift, but in that case I'd have to do the full R&R in a single day, which limits my options. I'm able to get a good clearance in my garage with jack stands, is a lift necessary?

It seems like it's a good time to upgrade turbos, however the price for any upgrades turbos seems to be double the oem replacements. There are options that involve sending in your turbos for a rebuild/upgrade which seems comparable, but how do I know if my turbos are too damaged to be rebuilt? Both have side to side and in and out shaft play, and the comp wheels are a bit chewed up

I've also seen some cores for sale that are much cheaper than full turbos, but I'm not sure how that even works, like these:

Is that just a bolt on part or what?

Also, I've heard oil line filters need to be replaced. Do I need to order new supply lines?

I actually finished up the job a couple weeks ago.

Replaced all oil lines (filters for the 3.5 are around the banjo bolt going into the turbo on the supply line, new lines came with new filters)

Car runs great after swapping out the turbos (and new spark plugs)
