Well my repaired Sync system lasted 2 weeks. The first Sync would not properly handle the phone directory. After 2 hours of diagnostic testing, Ford told the dealer to replace the Sync. After a 2 hour replacement, it worked for about 2 weeks and now it won't sync with any phone. Love the new technology but I'm beginning to think the quality control on the supplier technology needs improvement at Ford. I have another service appointment next week (4 hours of dealer wait time and counting).

I had a 2005 Ford 500 and the only problem I had was with the radio/CD equipment. It had to be replaced 3 times in the 6 years I owned the vehicle.

Here's hoping I won't have to replace the SHO Sync 3 times... just a little frustrated. Hope they're not using remanufacted units for repairs.

Bill,

I have no problem with my EVO.

You do need to start fresh thou. Wipe Sync from the phone, Reset to factory defaults on the SYNC. Then connect the two via BT.

However DO NOT DOWNLOAD the phonebook, that will screw it up. www.syncmyride.com has a app you can download and sace your contacts from PC into that app. then save it on a zip drive. Then upload from zip.

Any questions call the 800-531 #. They will walk you through it

Amgerst,

My car mechanically has been great. The Electronics have been AWFUL. I'M close to filing a lemon law case.

The Sync not working repeatedly, vehicle health report. TR sensor (I think) acting up intermittently. The worst is when the car wont start with "no key detected" wait 4 hrs or get another key and works fine

I tried it again today and guess what? It worked! Normally it only works for 2 minutes and then it drops the connection but it worked fine for over 1/2 hour. Hopefully it stays that way.

Thanks for describing your approach. I tried it and the phone works again and I had the same result with the phonebook. Downloading the phonebook creates problems with bluetooth. I reset everything and re-sync the phone without downloading the phonebook - then used the usb install for the phonebook. I still see ocasional bluetooth disconnects but at least it works (sort of). BTW... I have the Env3 with Verizon. Looks like Ford needs to work on it's Sync system quality... not up to a high standard.
