Hello all…The fob just quit onmy daughters 2010 sho. She is getting no key detected when hitting the start button. If the fob is in the console, car starts. Replaced battery in fob, no help. Any suggestions on troubleshooting and thanks in advance.

Correct me if I’m wrong but with the fob inserted in console and car starts wouldn’t that tell me the battery in fob is working?

Welcome to the forum.

No. Method to start most cars with a dead key fob battery is to make contact with the receiver.
Buy a good fresh battery (Energizer, Duracell...). I've found that dollar store ones don't always work.

No. There is a slot in the center console specifically made for starting the car with a dead fob battery. That's why it works.

You need a lithium battery, the cheapo ones do not work. For damn near any newer fob

do you have a second fob to try with? have you verified vehicle battery health (voltage and cold cranking amps)?

If you need a new fob, check out Dorman. They sell a kit with a fob and an OBDII programmer for ~$75-80. Way cheaper than a dealer. Works great.

Interference?
Does it happen everywhere or just at certain location?
Have you installed anything aftermarket lately? UFO jammer?
