My first question involves a Terrible high pitch sqeak coming from what sounds like the strut towers. However, It does not make these noises when the car is driving straight over any kind of bumps. The noise is only heard when you are making a left turn and going over the slightest of bumps (I'm sure ALSFB's do not help) and is just now starting to happen when making right hand turns altho its not nearly as persistant. The left side does it all the time however. From a dead stop I cranked the wheel as far left as it would go and the noise showed up as soon as I let off from turning the wheel all the way, Again it sounded like it was coming from the strut tower. Strut mounts?
My second question involves a noise coming from my SHO when I am taking off from a stop (However, It does not happen if I am smooth enough off the clutch from a stop
) and when I get on and off the throttle. The noise only happens in those two instances and is accompanied by a very large sqeak and can be felt through the pedals/floorboards, Again ALSFB's make it more noticable I'm sure. Since this car did have its fair amount of track days and what not I assume that the Rear motor mount has failed (From what I understand, Hard downshifts can wear out a rear motor mount pretty quick). It's certainly not the front motor mount as there is no wear on my intake manifold and that was replaced by Eric not long before I got it. The car has also made this noise since I've got it but must have gotten worse in the 20,000 Miles my dad has put on it in the last year and a half.
Thank you.
