2 amps in back?

Ok, I blew my stock sub the other day and I figure my aftermarket sub will sound better without it anyway. I went to take it out, and disconnected the box, and the speaker wire is going into a little silver unit, i thought it was the amp, but that is over to the right...I didn't disconnect it yet b/c the wire wouldnt come out easily...What is the silver unit to the left if it isn't the amp??

there are two amps.... i forget how much power but i don't think it's much more than 40w each. but both are amps. one is for the sub only, the other i believe is for the rear deck speakers

the silver unit i believe is the power relay or ground relay. i am not sure, but thats what i thought it was when i ripped all my stock stuff out a while ago, just looked and saw which wires went where and thats what i determined.
