Might have to change out the shifter and display by the shifter. Not sure when they changed that in 99 and got rid of the OD button and changed the shifter display. Other than that since you have everything going with the 97 drivetrain should just plug in, but you know FORD, they seem to change stupid things.
my body is not sho it's ses .I know i have to change radiator, master cylinder and other pieces...but i dont know if it has abs. how dificult is it to make wiring fit if it does'nt have abs?
Basically you'll have to significantly re-wire the new body. If it's any consolation, you would have to do it even if you were going into a 99 SHO body.
You don't have to change the radiator or master cylinder. If the new car doesn't have ABS I wouldn't even start the project. Computer gets speed data from ABS since there is no VSS on the SHO drivetrain.
Better off finding a 96 or 97 chassis to work with (that has ABS) IMHO.
where is the abs module ? i already start the project and body is like new. i changed the interior ,the bumpers and the jbl sound system. i dont want to swap sarc system. from now all connection were the same !
ABS module is under the battery. Yeah, most if not all of the connectors are the same, but the wires most definitely are not.
My recollection from putting the '98 drivetrain in the '02 is that you have to use the SARC module (IIRC it makes the ABS speed signal usable by the PCM).
more benefit to mtx swap ? my engine have cam welded, head porting ,remove butterflies, short horn intake, intake port polish ,underdrive pulley, 100 000km
