I have a 95 ATX with high miles that I never ran in the quarter mile yet. I just purchased a zex nitrous kit and I have a few bolt ons. I have an 80mm MAF, LPM and I also have a CAI, magnaflow highflow cats and mufflers (when I do go to the dragway I am hoping to have a custom y pipe made by then). Does anyone think I will get in the 13s with this set up and also should I manually shift it or let the computer do the shifting. I also have eibachs with sensa tracs. The car is very well maintained too.

First try, 14s. If you are running a big shot of n2o, then I'd say 13s. The powerband on this car just isn't ideal for 1/4 mile runs.

I think if you can keep your 60' Times down you won't have a problem yeilding a high 13 second Time.

I think you'll see higher MPH's with the MTX.

However, The E.T. (The only one that matters) crown will go to the ATX, Easy.

I see that, but unless you suck at driving an mtx......I still think that you would reel the atx in just fine though!

Area91 and somedude_001 are running about equal power levels. Area91 has yet to hit 12s (though he's darn close), somedude_001 has hit them. Difference? The 12 second one is an almost full weight ATX.

The transaxle is not the only difference. Let's not forget that Brian breaks an axle on every other run. Some HD axles could turn the tables. And with the power level jmp will be looking at, axles would be less of a concern anyway.

Axels don't have much to do with Traction, Except for how one might Launch the car. At the rate that Brian Breaks axels, I don't think that he is really driving with Axel preservation in mind.

It really doesn't take much. My first axle was broken in 1st gear after I was already in gear and at WOT. Around 5,500-6,000 RPM, it just snapped.

keep in mind the ATX has pretty nasty torque management on it. on my car it was dropping my timing to 0deg for about 30 feet then wham it would give me timing back and boost would follow. I would still get 2.0 60' times consistently even though my car would roll off the line essentially. A easy way to tell if the tq management is still on is to brake torque the engine while spraying it. if your 11.6" brakes hold the car back then you are missing a bunch of timing. if it is off your brake setup will probably not hold the car in place. a few people saw this at the convention with my turbo car and that is why I swapped on fonz's 13" cobras for the drag event that got canceled.

If you spray the launch you should easily have enough power to be below 2.0 60' IMO

perfect example of how the factory torque management will make you hate yourself. pretty much all of the runs got me 2.0 60' times except the first one where I spun nearly half the track. I had over 40psi in the RF tire and 17 in the left front.

tires are 245/45/17 kump victoracer V770

the lpm is most likely going to have some timing advanced on it. this is the exact opposite thing you want to do with nitrous.

at the track i cut consistent 2.1 60ft times. my car gets off the line better than most atx's. yet i still have a best time of 13.9
