I'm helping my brother sell his car. He lives in the East Lansing area. He can't afford gas and car insurance anymore due to the fact that he's a poor college student.

It's a green 1993 ATX Ford Taurus SHO. It has just over 140,000 miles. It comes with a set of steelies he used for winters with tires that have decent tread left. Within the past 2 years or so, it has had a handful of replacements.

:woo-hoo:

Whats New:
Alternator
Battery
Steel Brake Lines
Ball Joints
Brake Pads
Idler Pulley
Starter
Rotors

Totalling at about $2600.

From what he tells me, there are a couple issues with it. I'm not sure what they are exactly though. He says after he drives it for a while, he'll stop at a light, and when he goes to drive again when it turns green, it will hesitate and then kind of launch forward. I'm thinking it might be a brake issue. Also, the last time he drove it, his gas went up and down and when he parked, he could smell gasoline. So there must be a leak somewhere. There's just a little bit of rust but nothing too life threatening.

Make me an offer!

More information on the '**** from start'.. I emailed them to find out more information, thinking it might be the dreaded failed clutch piston.. Doesn't sound like it from the further description, may be a fuel issue.. Here are the comments, he asked i post for him..

Could you please do that? I can't seeing how I can only make a post on my thread after every 7 days. So I can't for a few more days.

If it ONLY does it at low gas and regardless of temperature, might not be tranny... If it only does it 'sometimes' then it is possible he is having a fuel pressure (filter usually) issue or pump issue in the tank.. SInce this is a rustbelt car (IIRC) I'd worry about stuff in the tank and change the filter.
/shrug, I am just guessing based on the little information I have.
Post the rest of this into the group and ask...

His dashboard said low coolant so he asked if it was low when he got his oil changed and they said that it was. So do you think that the lack of coolant messed up the tranny???
