After new plugs, wires(Belden), Fuel Filter and Fuel pump, it still stumbles and hesitates. It is not constant. It is off and on during acceleration, and while idling. What would symptoms be for a failing fuel pressure regulator?

Also, check the coil packs. I had this happen to my 93 MTX and the FORD DEALER mis diagnosed it 4x by putting on new plugs and wires and kept telling me that was the issue. Until, on the 5th time, they finally let the shop foreman look at it who put on (or so they told me) new coil packs and then she ran great!

Good luck and let us know what worked out.

Sounds like your MAF (mass air flow unit sensor) is dirty. Cleaning it out usually makes a world of difference.

I just had this problem and it costed me 100.00 bucks not incluiding labor trus me on this at least take a look at it if not could cost you your engine your harmonic balancer bolt will loosen a liltle but not giggle. And you crank timing gear will start moving back and forth and destroying your key and in worst times your Key way then front seal will be destroyed by the key way. Trust me at least take a look at it because mine hesitated and now I have to fix it
