Selling my 1992 Silver MTX

Body has...306,000 miles on it. Some clearcoat fading on the roof and hood. But for the good...

  • Koni inserts with Eibach springs with one dead coil cut off
  • Gen 3 subframe - it looks a little rough since it's the first one I had done, but it works
  • Cobra brakes with Hawk HPS pads in the front, stock rear brakes, stainless lines
  • 24/26 sway bars
  • 17" wheels with 225/50/17s
  • Quaife - has about 20,000 miles on it, transmission was out of a car with 170k. Shifts okay, but the 1-2 shift can be a little hard to hit sometimes. With a decent offer on the car, I'll throw in all the spare MTX parts I have. Probably two transmissions worth. New diff bearings installed when it was put in this trans maybe a couple thousand miles ago.
  • Stock flywheel, clutch has around 20,000 or so miles, SHOnut fork bushings and ceramic TOB
  • 3.2 with about 70,000 miles on it. It had 62,000 when it was installed a couple years ago. I did NOT do rod bearings at the time, but can include them, along with a 3.0 oil pan and pick up tube. NEW Gates timing belt kit with tensioner put on when the motor went in, along with new cam seals. I think the rear most seal is leaking a bit, but not a ton. Water pump had around 20,000 on it when the swap was done so it was reused as there was nothing wrong with it. I gasket matched the openings of the head ports as well. 3.2 injectors were used as well
  • SHO Shop Stage 2 cams - lots of lope - reshimmed within the last 1000 miles. Timing chain tensioners have maybe 15,000 miles on them as well as the cams.
  • Stock airbox/MAF, I have an 80mm MAF that will go with the car
  • Hand ported intake with SHO Shop BBBs
  • Stainless Performance Plus y-pipe, but the cats were gutted. Stock catback exhaust from a 93.
  • Nice black interior with 93+ steering wheel and console
  • Hard button EATC, WORKING AC, and I'm pretty sure it still has R12 in it
  • Sunroof seal was replaced a couple years ago

I think that's most of what's bolted to it. The car could really use a tune honestly. Currently does need an alignment as well, since I swapped the stock rack back in it, as I did not like the ZF that I had. Car pulls pretty good, it made 225whp with the stock intake on it. Better tires would go a long way towards the handling, I think the 225/50s just have too much sidewall.

10/29/15 UDP and 11.6 rear brakes removed, and I believe the car needs a steering rack

I've got a bunch of extra parts that will go with the car as well for the right price, mostly stock stuff. A tub full of MTX parts, a set of slicers with tires, a couple extra alternators, a passenger side stub and cv axle, a couple sets of stock cams, and probably some other stuff too.

    DSCN1158 Shoengine DSCN1141 DSCN1144 DSCN1147 DSCN1148

  • $2500 with 11.6 front brakes and stock rears
  • $2800 with Cobra fronts

Make me an offer I can't refuse...

I'm going to give it a few weeks, then this will become a 'SHO parts car' ad.

Ok, this really bums me out to see a car like this with no interest. Why is no one interested? Miles on the body? I guess I can't believe there are any of these left that aren't rusted to pieces like in my part of the world (Michigan).

Good luck with the sale Kevin. This is close to the setup I have on my 89, and it took years to build it up. Looks like an awesome car for an unbeatable price!

That is a great condition car, tastefully modified, and this ad is very well written. Very nice. :)

I think it may need a steering rack. It has some stiff spots when turning left. $3400 OBO?

I would like to Fly up and take a look at the car and if it all looks good and it is still for sale I would take it off your hands for $3000K if you would part with it for that offer?
