I've owned 4 SHO's and this is one I've had about 3 years and it's time to let it go. I knew the previous owner and he did all the subtle mods to the car. It has all the good plus features with the ABS bulge hood, rod shifter, and original rear deck spoiler.

It still has shiny original factory white paint, with assorted small dings and scrapes but shows very well overall. Not a spec of rust at all anywhere on body. The interior is black full leather and is also very nice also with just a split in the drivers seat bolster and on top of the rear seats and one seat bottom.

The car has 173K miles, but just 3,000 miles since going through the motor--heads were removed, valve job, valve seals, cam seals, couple guides, light surfacing were all done. Valves were adjusted to middle of clearance specs. Ford head gaskets were used. The block got a lite bottle hone and all pistons had new Ford rings installed. New intake and exhaust gaskets, new timing belt and crank position sensor. Water pump also recently replaced along with idle air control valve. The rod bearings were replaced along with checking the main bearings. They were all retorques with a Snap-On digital torque wrench.

Car runs and drives great, clutch is good, front brake pads and rotors are new, has polished slicers with 225/55/16 tires. The AC has been blowing cold and sometimes not so cold so the charge is getting low. The engine is making a rattling noise on top which may be the timing belt tensioner and I have the part on order and will be installing it.

All 4 struts were also recently replaced.

These are the mods done to the car:
96 Big Brake upgrade
Walbro fuel pump
Performance Plus y-pipe
Summit turbo mufflers
Welded in subframe connectors
Front and rear strut tower braces
Sony sound system with CD changere in trunk
Police grille
Window tint done by new car dealer 2 years ago, cermaic film, 20% rear, 35% front, windshield band too.

The car is in the San Diego, Ca area.

New price to move it quick----------------------$2,500

I installed tensioner--rattle noise still there. Basically this engine is rebuilt so I'm baffled--it doesn't affect the way it runs and I've been driving it over two years with this noise so I will vouch that the engine is solid.

I took outside pictures and they are now in the original post.

Thanks!

Greg

FastFourDoor is MIA so I'm bumping to top.

Priced now at $2,500 to move quick

And I know I am pretty far away from most of you so that part isn't easy! But the lower price will help with the cost of getting the car to you.

Thanks,
Greg

Greg, might be a timing chain tensioner drivers side rather than the timing belt tensioner. The oil passages in the tensioners get gunked up, and not enough oil is getting into the tensioner body to keep it stiff at idle. Allows chain to rattle against valve cover. Noise goes away at anything but idle as the oil pressure increases.

The tensioners can be disassembled by removing the roller pin. Don't lose the spring and ball inside. Then clean up the internals and reassemble.

Would this car be worth $3,500 delvered to your door in MD?

The shipping is about $1,100

I'd reduce the price a little.
