It is still available.
If distance is a problem for you I may be able to deliver.
This car runs great and I would drive it anywhere.
I just need to find a ride home then. :frantic:

I have the money for this car and I am looking for an 1989, but I know there is no way I can buy this car from you after all the work you did to it.

Come get it.
Detailing is what I do, and I have other projects I need to get to.
Oopps, Carlisle Ford Car Show.
Thanks for the compliment.
I believe my 89 Titanium will be an invitational this year.
I was told it's a go from the events manager.
But no official Email yet.

mrecoolgar, I saw your red 89 XR7 SC on the Cougar forums today. You have too many cars! Actually I was scanning to see if there were any good 69 XR7s. Every now and then I get a wild hair and figure instead of buying a 2nd SHO, I'll try to find an old 69 Cougar like my dad's first car. The only problem is they are significantly more money (probably easier to work on though).

I do have too many cars.
I'm working on lowering the quantity.
My first car was a 68 Cougar, still have it.
Good luck if you decide to get one.

Did you ever get to the engine compartment? detailed there? Any shots?

I still have not bought a SHO in almost 2 years because I want to make sure Im 100% happy. The next one I buy will be my last one.

I didn't realize I had no under hood shots.
It's in good shape as it is.
But I will be detailing it sometime after Carlisle.

What a Stellar Restoration!

I just cought up with this thread. First off, how much would you charge to do this sort of clean up/resto/detail? Please respond via PM.

Secondly :hail: You sir are the Man! I suspect your arms are the size of hams, what with all that rubbing!

Do you work with power tools or by hand?

Would you consider drafting a How-to manual with tips to restoring the SHO specifically? I for one would give you a few bucks up front to be able to have a referrence manual for all the little stuff that makes a SHO look like that after ones effort.

I'll meet your three SHO's and two SC and raise you 3 more SHO's.
Thanks for the compliments platoribs.
Everything is done by hand.
A how to manual would be interesting but I don't think I'm qualified.

I know I could do something similar but I suspect my ADD would kick in about the time I got it all disassembled, and then ...
... well...

...I'd just have a big pile of SHO/Taurus junk!

I'm sorely tempted to attack my Blue car like this and just stop the steady deteriation.

So essentially just remove the plastic, rust, and dirt, cover the rust with preventer and rub it with something like a three step process? Then put it all back together b/4 you forget how?

Any tips you can offer will be much appreciated.

And if you still have this, (are you coming to the Convention?) will you br bringing it or something a little more refined!

I'm too poor to attend any conventions, my bad.
But I would drive this one anywhere.
I have all my $ tied up in 13 cars.
Wish I could sell at least one.
But you got the jist of it.
Try a section or similar, reinstall then move on.
Such as door cladding on all doors.
Then the skirting.
If you get lost feel free to PM me.
For the most part I can tell you where any certain fastener goes.

OK, I may take you up on this offer. If I don't do this PDQ on my Bluie he's just going to rust away. And a Blue 93 MTX with factory black interior is just too cooll to let that happen.

Regarding McGuire's 3 step and Xymol, are there better products? Or are these just fine?

NAPA parts guy told me the Xymol stuff needs to be removed immediately or it gets very hard and difficult to remove. True?

Thanks for your tips.
