ok so the car has 186K & its never had the upper 60K, I'm the second owner of the car & was good friends with the first owner, the cars only had Mobile1 Full Synthetic run through it. now my question is if i decide to do an upper 60K & rod bearing, should i just go the extra step & hone the cyl. walls & replace the piston rings, along with the main bearings & head gaskets?

I don't have any engine problems right now but I know that my luck has to run out sometime, & lately I'v been taking it easy on the car but i want to be able to run the **** outta the thing without fear of hurting her.

Do the 60k and replace your rod bearings. Don't worry about your rings or head gaskets. There are plenty of SHOs around with well over 200k miles that have never had the cylinder heads or pistons removed.

Get some Auto-RX. Two bottles and 10k miles will do wonders.

like i said the only stuff thats been run through it is the mobil1 full synthetic*, & theres no signs of sludge, I just did an oil change the other day & it was pretty clean, just sligtly darker then new. now I'm not totaly against the idea, just kinda sceptic of running anything eles in it.

What do the rest of you guys think about this Auto-Rx stuff?

*from 93'-95' he could have been putting regular mobile1, I wasn't paying much attention to the oil when i was 10! but if it was out then he would have used it. by 96 I'm 100% sure it was all full syn.

Why are you worried about running the **** out of it? Is it making noises? Has the guy before you or you have never run it hard?

Im not saying going beat the **** out of it, but I am wondering what your worry is and why honing the cylinders will cure it.
