Any of you running 17 x 8 rims on your SHO's? My rear wheel wells are shaved and I'm looking for this size rim to put on the car. I guess I'd settle for 17 x 7.5, but I'd rather go to 8's. I know about the OZ Superlegga's (or however you spell it), but was wondering if there were any others anyone knew of?

I'm running 17 by 9 Cobra chrome rims on my 95 SHO. I have a minor problem with hitting the rear wheel wells when I hit some hard bumps. I plan to shave the rear wheel wells soon so it won't be a problem anymore. I think 17 by 8's would be fine on your car in my opinion.

You can get ROH Snypers in 17x8 for the SHO. PanamaPat and a few others have been using those for a while. I'm using the same wheel but in 16x8.

I'm running 17x8s on my car with a 235/45/17 tire on there and have had no problems. The rear rims are rediclously close to the stut housings but do not hit. I actually had to use stick on wheel weights though or the wheel weight would have hit. I can try and find the offset if you want.

Do you know if they ever made those in an 18x8? Also, where are they available? I haven't seen them for sale anywhere online, but Discount Tire says they can get just about anything.

Which rims are they? Make and model?

When I got mine I had been working directly with the importer. The Discount Tire that I usually work with for tires asked if they could take a shot at it and got the same set (there was only one set left in the country at the time) for less $$ than what the importer was going to charge me.

So, yeah, give DT a shot.

Will be using these Borbet 17 X 8" (40mm offset) for track use with Kumho V700 rubber ... wheel combo currently for the street are MMII 17 X 7" w/Bridgestone S-03's.

I believe Dave Kegal had the same wheels on his blue Gen1 also:

Kurt,

Im running Millie Miglea's that are 17 x 8 their M something, i forget. Thier out of production though. Trust be you will not be able to fit a 235 tire on your car. Im running 225/45/zr17's on mine and the tire it about a popsickle stick from hitting the strut. Gen 2's are lucky because they have larger fender wells then the Gen 1, so they can run 235's easily and 18 inch rims.

I do, but they're kind of heavy for track wheels.

I run 235/45s on my Gen1 with 17x8" wheels. They fit fine. It's all in the offset. My wheels are 40mm offset. With the rear fenders trimmed I can even run a 5mm spacer in the rear with no rubbing.

I run 235/45 with 17X8 also. I did have to roll the rear fenders and trim a little bit of the plastic on the foward edge of the driver's side wheel well. I believe my offset is 35mm. I have plenty of clearance from the strut.
