Just like FastAndFurious, the SHO was my first car. I (unfortunately) was not so picky on the one that I bought, I jumped into the sale and bought one that still to this day is not on the road. LOL. So all I can tell you is make sure you do lots of research on it before you buy it. Either that or buy from someone you know and trust.

I am finding this as well. Haha. Keep this in mind too. Need a second for a parts car. Or as a second one to tinker around with. Whatever your heart desires ;)

Exactly! Couldn't have said it better myself. Thank you very much! :)

Good luck with the grades!! :p

Good advice!

Hope to see ya at some meets in the near future. Look to see what you like. I loved both of my gen 1s. But I love my 3.2 gen 2 also. so if I was you I would be looking for people in my area that have sho's to hang out with go to some meets and have fun. The more you learn before you get your first one the better off you will be. If you like turning wrenche's this is the car for you. They are a lot of fun and it is always rewarding to make your ride better in looks and performance. Have fun and be safe.

Hope you guys don't mind the bump. It's been almost three years since I originally posted this thread and it's weird seeing my posts and a bit embarrassing how little I knew! Sadly, I still have no SHO but I can proudly say I still want one of these as bad as when I first posted this thread. I have decided to start saving though. I am going to start playing with my money by investing it in some ideas and things, but my main goal is to get a V8 SHO. I could afford to buy a cheap one right now but my dad would **** me because we have no room for it at the house, and he wouldn't enjoy insuring it even if I paid him to do so.

Just thought I would log on and say hello. Hopefully you are all doing well and i really appreciate the great replies I got in this thread. I still browse Craigslist weekly to see what SHO's are available and have some idea of what I will do if I get one. (Welded Cams and a LOUD Exhaust) :D. My dad is also interested in the 24 hours of lemons and we both recognize a beat up SHO would be a great candidate for the race :)

I now have a reliable DD so I would not really care about the reliability of the SHO. I all ready told my dad I would keep it in storage as a project car and take it out on weekends or something.

So sorry for the little rant but I figured I would come on here and post because my dream of owning one of these has come a bit closer to being a reality.

Stay with it man... I was on the forum for a couple of years before I ever got one, so you're not alone ;)

Don't do it! Walk away while you still can. 23 here. Got my first one (94 ATX) when I was 15. I now almost need my toes to count how many I've owned... It truly is a disease. :)

Heck, I'm 26 and have had enough that I ran out of digits.....lol

My advice would be to go for one only after you have a reliable daily. And these cars are much worse than VD.

You know the nice thing about the SVX??? Damn near every part is only made for the SVX!!! At least with the SHO, you can order regular Taurus parts for many things.

Hey guys,

I'm still here!!! I've been searching for a cheap second car and I figured it was the right time to look for a SHO as I have wanted one for almost a decade now. I'm wondering if anyone has a buyers guide available for the gen1/2 they could send me? The SHOtimes website doesn't seem to be working anymore unfortunately. Also, if anyone has a decent MTX 89-95 for sale in MA or nearby, I'd appreciate it if you'd shoot me a PM or something.

Thanks!

The way things are in the market now you should consider a road trip to get one that's in good shape. Especially if you are in the salt belt

Unless it was never driven in weather I would not buy a SHO from the New England area. Well worth a long weekend trip to somewhere warm, or even to pay to have one shipped from outside the salt belt.

For example when I bought the white 89 from Colorado a few years back, the seller drove it to Michigan, and flew home. I paid his expenses.

Thanks for the responses all, I am talking to the guy with the gen1 in western ma right now, there is also a clean one in Maine that seems to have no rust which I'm also looking at. There is also this one: https://providence.craigslist.org/cto/d/1994-ford-taurus-sho-inspected/6561469572.html however, the wires hanging down from under the dash and the motor swap scare me, it looks like a sketchy car and after having an SVO that had ****** wiring and a motor swap I'm not sure I can ever buy another car like that again. I'm not opposed to taking my time or getting a car shipped to me if it's the right car. However, my budget is low so I have to respect it.
