Well the old girl finally let me down..first time in 6 years...died while driving and check engine light "on" haven't checked the codes yet..will do in the AM, but expecting fuel pump failure..the last few weeks it turns over normal, but hard to start..intemmited..but will start..don't have a fuel pressure guage, but checked the valve on the fuel rail and get a dribble..when she stalled out on me, had no pressure at the rail..let it sit 10 minutes and started right up and drove home at 120 k/ph on the highway..all seemed normal...just checked it again after I shut it off..a dribble out of the valve..check valve in the pump done..?? I'll get a new pump in the AM if I'm barking up the right tree..???

don't just throw parts at it. you need to systematically check what's going on. Check the fuel pressure at the rail - it could be the pump or also fuel filter, or even the pressure regulator.

have someone turn the key to the on position while you give the bottom of the fuel tank a couple love taps. Check to see if you can hear the pump start whining after u whack the tank a couple times with the key on. Usually when the FP goes out, it sticks and the vibration form hitting the tank will free it up.
