1/4 window replacement gen 1

I need to replace both 1/4 windows on an 89. Found them in a junk yard for 10 bucks, but they are different than the gen 2 windows, they are bolted in, the gen 1's appear to be glued only? Anyone pulled one and know what you have to do? Thanks

They are glued in. I would try a heat gun to soften the glue. The way I heard to remove them is with a piece of something like piano wire. Have it run from the inside to the outside and use it like a saw and pull it back and forth around the seal. I have also heard that it is difficult to remove without a little cosmetic damage. Not a great prospect for looks. To replace with new is very expensive.

just under 400 at the dealer. I can get a employee discount so it would be less than that, but still way too much.

Maybe I'll just wait for a hot texas day and try my best to cut it out from the inside, and try the wire trick, thanks.
