Replaced my 02 sensors on my 94 ATX today. Just a quick note...several folks on the board here recommended doing the rear one from up top. After 15 minutes of fumbling around I decided to get underneath the car and I had it replaced in under 10 minutes, once the car was up on jack stands. The front was very easy..another 5-10 minutes. Total cost = $82.xx for both from Autozone plus the free use of their sensor socket and about an hours time. Now if all my other problems were so easy! :)

Tom -
I replace the O2's from underneath. The only thing on the ATX was that with the rear, it was easier having someone hold the connector in place from the top on the rear bank, while someone else pushed the sensor connector into the harness connector.

Ain't the rear bank a bummer to get at (on an ATX), especially when the engine's hot?

I changed mine from the bottom and I didn't even need the socket. A simple 22mm wrench works fine.

You've got room for a 22mm wrench? WOW! I had no room to move the one I had, so I had to do the offset O2 sensor socket.

You got that right. I let the car sit for an hour before I got underneath.

I didn't have room for a wrench either. Used the 02 socket.

BTW - while I was underneath, I noticed coolant dripping on my leg. Looked up with my lamp and the upper rad hose is leaking. Could have been worse.
