Hello people, quick question. I used an Android app (Car Performance) to see how fast "Blu" could run a 0-60 and my Evo recorded an unbelievable 4.598 second run! I have the performance package but I took the F1s off and replaced them with 255/45/20 Yokohama Parada Spec Xs. It was a cool dry night and the car was in Full Auto Sport mode (no thumb shifting). Does this sound right to anyone? I remember the Cnet review stating the car would run 5 seconds flat to 60 and even a little faster with the right driver but less than 4.6 seconds!! Any input is appreciated..

WOw, that's great.

Do you know how the phone technology works to record the speed? I'm just curious to how the phone knows when you get the 60MPH, and how it figures out the distance. I know they use GPS or triangulation, but I didnt think they could get that specific for a time run.

Those Evos are fast, especially when its in my pocket while I'm driving my SHO... All kidding aside, I wouldn't mind owning a slightly used Mitsubishi Evo or a Subaru WRX STi (by the way, both these cars run 4.4 to 4.8 second 0-60s all day). Those two blistering quick four bangers are exempt from my American cars only rule, not saying thats a short list of cars :angelnot:!

My Blackberry Storm2 uses an accelerometer and when calibrated, seems fairly accurate.

I have the R2D2 droid 2 phone (yep nerd star wars special edition phone).

I'm going to check out the marketplace and see if they have anything. Seems like a pretty cool app!

As long as the app is calibrated correctly, they are normally about as accurate as a g-tech... Margin of error can be high though, moreso for the speed.

Evo is the iphone 4G, he was not referring to the Mitsubishi... Even if it would be an appropriate timing for 0-60. As for the SHO, 0-60 is rated anywhere between 5 sec. flat to 5.5 sec. It depends on the weather, the altitude, the amount of fuel, the weight of driver, the spare tires or any other accessories in the car, etc. But to get under 4.6 sec., that implies a good tune at least and a brake/torque launching with good grip from the tires... I have the dynolicious app on my iphone and once well calibrated and mounted on my car, I registered a 4.69 sec., with a 2.32 sec. 60 ft. When I am a the drag, I do under 1.9 sec. for the 60 ft., so I am looking forward to see w¡how it will translate for 0-60mph at the drag. But, I believe 4.6 sec. is about what I should get and the app is not perfectly accurate... Still pretty impressive and fast for the weight of our car. Have fun with your car and the application on your iphone, be prudent and post a video of acceleration on youtube... I have posted many under steve142857 with different level of mods, next one will be at the drag with the new exhaust... and I will compare the actual stats with the ones of my iphone app to see how accurate...
Cheers!

An Evo 4G is not an iPhone, its made by HTC and uses the Android system... no attitude with this reply...just for further reference. We're all just joking about the Mitsubishi, even though I would love to have one.

Fast is my CTS- V - 0 to 60 in 4 sec.. LOL

the cts-v....is fast! I saw one a few weeks back and it looked slick. For over $60k and 550HP, it better be quick.

I read that Hennessey is tweaking a dozen or so 2012's to have 1000+ HP. That is just...nasty! You can cut a half second off your 0-60 so they say :)

Very nice car indeed, but fast only when not too cold, not too snowy, not too rainy... In Quebec, that would leave me with a fast car for about 50 days a year... lol!
... Probably close to that too in Ontario though, I guess that is why you still can enjoy your SHO right?
