    hollowing out cats

What I do on a couple of my cars without cats that require them, is cut old clogged cats in half from any car, gut them, then weld the casing around some straight portion of the exhaust...doesn't solve your original cat gutting question, but it does solve my passing inspection problem. Much...

    Unbeliveable Clutch story

I installed a SPEC stage 2+ clutch a while ago...the TOB failed in 2 weeks. Easy driving, not even broken in yet. The bearing split open and spewed crap all over everything. Sent it back to SPEC and they sent me a brand new one no problem...sold it on ebay to break even, and i'll be putting...

What is the benefit of using sythetic oil?

Well I love synthetic. My 95 has had Mobil 1 since 10k miles...just did the rod bearings at 108k and they look barely broken in. Always used Wix filters as well...NAPA sells them with their name on the filter/box. No oil burning issues, no leaks...nothing. Same goes for my Supra that now has...

what is your opinion on suspension?

OK this kinda follows in the same line of though. I just installed eibachs and tokico's on my 95 SHO and it sits...well..goofy still! The front is way high and the back just sags slightly less now. I'll post a pic later, but i'm very disappointed. It looks just as bad as my 103k mile original...

stripping that nasty chrome off slicers

If you want really good results you could have the wheels bead blasted and then paint them with professional equipment. That's what I did...but painting car and motorcycle stuff is a hobby of mine...I still recommend bead blasting thought to remove all the old paint and crud, shouldn't cost much...

Alright guys i need some guidence

I know this is a very late reply...but did you ever figure out your problem with the steering? I'm thinking it could be power steering related...like the rack and pinion or something? Especially if it's louder when it's cold outside...Just a thought that's all.

Buzzing noise from steering column area

lol, well now that reminds me, the day that I stopped having the noise...and had cobbed the clutch spring, well that was the same day I got my cluster back from repair and put a new speedometer cable in...all lubed up and everything... :nut:

    Estimates from the mechanic...

Well, every place i've been around the Albany NY area has quoted me no more than 220 for a front right wheel bearing replacement. That was the most expensive, the cheapest was 140. I'm going to do both front bearings myself anyways now...but just figured i'd let you know. That was also places I...

    Replacing front bearings

What about for putting the new bearings in? Do I need to have them pressed in at a shop? Or is this something that can be done at home?

Buzzing noise from steering column area

I had the same problem. Swore for a month it was coming from somewhere around the steering collumn, then I found it was the clutch pedal spring just like Keith. Felt like an idiot after having tore the whole dash apart looking for it...But then again, you could be having some other...

MONEY and the Adventures of the Crankshaft Position Sensor

Well most part companies just take other companies stuff and stick their name on it. For exampls, NAPA filters are actually Wix (sp?) filters, which are known to be some of the best in the industry. There is also a section that NAPA calls Balkamp, which is relabled stuff from K and N to...

    Car Show/Meet Ect.....

You guys against a winter get together? Before any really heavy snow of course? I don't mind traveling, assuming I get my exhaust and finally finish what seems to be a clutch job that's taking me forever...Hell even snow doesn't bother me, i'll have the snows put on soon enough anyways :D

    Eibachs with OEM replacement struts?

Thanks for all the info guys! I think i'll just go with the Tokikos on ebay for 420 or so shipped...Might wait until spring to do it all then...won't really have the chance to enjoy it much during the icy/snowy winter...

    Eibachs with OEM replacement struts?

I was curious if Eibach springs would work well with new factory similar struts...I wouldn't be getting them through ford but through NAPA since I work there. Anyone have any experience or would I be better off spending the extra money on Tokiko's or something? I believe the brand that NAPA...

MONEY and the Adventures of the Crankshaft Position Sensor

I know NAPA carries Crank Position Sensors. Echlin is the brand they carry, so far it's lasted about 15k and seems to work just fine...only cost me 34 bucks with my employee discount. I'll check into retail. Oh and for future reference if you EVER shop at NAPA say you have AAA it'll save you at...
