As long as your maintenance is up to date (upper and front 60k Service) and the engine has good compression there is no need for you to rebuild it. Change your rod bearings and be more concerned with the transmission and other vital components that affect daily driving. All of this is assuming you just wanted to rebuild it for peace of mind and that there is no mechanical issues that are known. Save your money!
Has the transmission in the car been rebuilt or replaced?
