i cant post pictures until tomorrow night because i went to the drag strip this weekend and broke an axle and the car is sittin im my shop. the first run i did a very long burnout, ok first and second gear burnout, and sprayed the **** out of it in third. heres the results-

right lane
r/t--.647
60'--2.930
330--8.278
1/8--12.151
mph--67.66
1000-15.058
1/4 --17.444
mph--96.17

focus on the mph lol not the whole run. i did a huge burnout in 1st and 2nd then when i shifted to 3rd and it caught about the 60 foot and i turned the nitrous switch on then it started pulling extremely hard and hauled A$$. and i ran off of a ProTree. now the second run woulda been freakin great...... but i lowered the air pressure from what i drove there on, 35psi to 20psi and the car hooked so hard i broke an axle and spun the tire on the rim and it almost went flat. sooo... i had the car towed home and stayed to watch the rest of the Rockford ProStreet class run without me. and the 89 mercury Capri i had first round go down the track alone because i gave him a buy when i broke.

You might want to get some practice.

ya think! not like i had the chance. that run was my first time ever on a drag strip and the second time was my last of the day due to busted axle. im pretty sure it would just get better as the day went on.

I thought you said "first time at the strip + sex = broken axle"

I was kinda disappointed...

If there is one thing I have learned with drag racing MTX SHO's its to pre-load the clutch as much as possbile before launch. Meaning: When your holding the revs to Launch lift on the clutch as much as possible without letting the car roll foward. I think it could save an Axle or two on launching (Unless you break it on the 1-2 shift) and there way less of a shock in the clutch/motor mounts with the initial launch.

yeah i guess that makes sence, just before it starts to roll is when it would be taking up any slack in the of the driveline eh?

If you were in third 60' out, you couldn't get much worse.

wow and i thought every one had to learn how to dragrace. but i guess you must have been born with the knowledge. i mean really if your just gonna make fun of a first timer please dont post in this thread anymore cause its obvious that you dont have anything good to say.

I have found it best to roll into the the throttle if your'e going to spray first. Just launch as if you were at a street light trying to get in front of someone in the next lane. Then roll (i.e DON'T stomp) into the throttle, it should be a fluid movement. Basically, it limits the time the nitrous has to build power in first gear. By the time you have your full shot, it'll be about time to shift. Same thing for second, just roll into it alittle faster and try not to powershift. Sure you could powershift the crap outta the car, and gain a couple tenths... but then you run the risk of having this happen all over again.

Oh and BTW... welcome to the addiction. Hope you can afford the monthly nitrous bill. I've run over 100lbs through my car since I installed the system. At $60 a pop, well you get the idea.

an addiction?...... ok yea its an addiction. but its gettin cold out now. so i prolly wont get to use it again till spring:cry:

do i need to pull the bottle out of the car for the winter? the car sits outside in the cold! and kinda a stupid question but does it go bad? or am i ok to keep it around till spring.

btw i wasn't spraying while doing that burnout off the line. i didn't spray till i got traction in 3rd. but im going to try different things next time.

That's kinda when I decided it was getting ridiculous :nut:

There was a point that I easily spent $300+ in less than 1 month.
