Meet in September

PS... johnathon, just remember, (no offense to the TSHOC members..but you know it is kinda true) sometimes we think there will be like 30 people and only 5 show.... just a thought before you make the drive...we'll make a list of everyone who is definitely going to be there for the meet during next week. and BTW.. it should only take you 6 1/2 hrs.. why does it take you so damn long!!!! lol...

I'm figuring it on that it takes 6 and a half hours to get to your place. And this meet is the middle of NC if I'm correct. Therefore in my reasoning, it will take longer to get down there, no?

Johnathan your welcome to crash at my house on the futon or one of the couches, however, I'm in Greenville which is ~three hours from Charlotte. I hate to see you throw out all that cash for a hotel, though it may be worth getting one right in town.

Okay, I will deffinatly consider that.:thankyou: Is greenville in the right dirrection from there to head to PA? I'm horrible at geography.

Not really, to be honest. It's about 250 miles east. And actually the trip shouldn't be 3 but about 4 hours since I just got a ticket a month ago :angelnot:

I was rereading the entire thread out of boredom at work and excitement for this meet recently... Ken, your g/f wants nothing more on her b-day than to come to a SHO meet, bring her!

OK, here is an updated post of who is coming. This is mostly for planning, helps me figure out the day's activities etc.

This is basically a list from the forum, may get one or two more local Chapel Hill folks (yes Tanya F., this means you!).


So if everyone SHOs up (couldn't resist) then we will have about a dozen people and at least that many cars. My guess is about half that number will want to race, and the rest can come and cheer, jeer or socialize.


Orange County Speedway is providing a Flagman/Medic for us, we are doing our own Race Control (nc89SHO and me) and safety inspection. Plan that we will have a brief driver's meeting before going on the track, esp. for the newbies ... like me!

Plan as of now is to meet at my place in the late morning, then head out to the track about 3pm. We have the place reserved until 6pm. After that, we go to Golden Corral in Durham for dinner (no cookout this year, we're moving up the food chain).
