Whats the stock MAF and Injector size on my 1997 SHO. I am parting it out and selling off most everything but if the MAF and injectors are big enough to keep for use on a mustang later I may hang onto them because I know they are all perfect.

The MAF is 80 mm on the V-8 SHOs. The injectors I believe are 19#ers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on those. ****...

Correct on both counts - 80mm MAF, 19 lb/hr. injectors. However, the V8 SHO injectors will not work on a mustang, nor any other car I know of.

4.6 OHC (mustang-cougar-tbird) has these. At least in the early versions of the 4.6.

I have a set of Mustang 19lb/hr injectors sitting in my garage (the Vulcan SLO Taurus uses the same size), and they are definitely different.

V8 SHO injector on left, Mustang size injector (actually Vulcan 14lb/hr) on right:

You sure they have the V8 injectors? The V8 injectors are 12mm shorter than the normal Mustang ones that I've seen.
No, he's not sure since he's dead wrong... :shakehead

And I'm surprised he didn't try pimping RCM in his reply as he is wont to do. :nut:

In any case to the OP, there are only two vehicles that the V8 SHO injectors will fit physically, one is the V8 SHO, and the other is some Dodge Neons.

With proper tuning you could get the MAF to work in just about anything, but realistically there are countless better options out there.

You're right , not the same.

But both are yellow skinny plastic injectors 19 pounders. the 4.6 are longer.

As for the pic of the mustang injector , this is a 5.0 style inj. 4.6 Uses the other style.

The injectors also fit my wife's 2000 model 2.0 SOHC Focus

did they work?

not to go off the subject but in theory wouldn't this mean if one was to do FI to their car they could use bigger focus injectors?

a v8 SHO injector has to handle 0.42L per injector
and a focus injector handles 0.5L per injector

Would these ones work?

If so, I feel one would have to be putting down ALOT of power to require them.

OOOOHHHH ! ! !

Those Bosch ones look the part ! !

THAT is exciting! Kind of sends my Cobra M112 project in a different direction. Making the entire intake for SHO R T S was fine and dandy for 10 psi, but being able to reuse the LIM would help greatly on the next project. I'm aiming for 20 - 25 psi and the surface area of a box intake has me concerned.

The Z-Tec is the DOHC. I do not know if those are the same length as the SOHC injectors. Sure hope they do.

I found out that the Ford GT 40 used the same size injectors as well, but used the newer CAN connection, so new harnesses would be needed.

Those Focus injectors look the part, and are hella cheaper than what I was quoted for GT40 injectors.

42lb/hr would be enough to support ~11-12lbs of boost.

there are lots of upgrades. the sho injector is the same as the contour duratec injectors, which are the same as the taurus duratec injectors which are the same as alot of other ford injectors from that time period
