1994 Ford SHO wont start

My 1994 SHO has stopped starting. It as starting five just a few days ago, then it would start very ruff for a few days. Then it would click, and the starter motor would not make any noise. When i looked under there i could see the wires are all covered in oil, i guessing from my last oil change, dumb walmart. I cleaned all the wires off and reseated them. The starter now clicks also, but just once. I tried tapping the starter, no luck. Jumping the car didnt help ether. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas, i would really appreciate it. Also i have a new started that i put in about 2 months ago, so i hope its not that.

What do you mean by "started rough"?

You very well could need a new starter. They tend not to like having oil poured on them. If you have the tools it's not very hard to take out. Then you could clean it up to try it again or have it checked out at a parts store. Autozone does it for free.

Also i tried to bypass the starter solenoid, and kinda "hot wire" the car and it still just clicked. So it may be the started, i think im going to call the people replaced it last time, it is still under warranty.

egr ports on the intake. I had this same thing. What are the codes you are coming up with?

Crap, I've been wondering why my starter has been acting so strange...I just did an oil change and I had tons of oil spill on in when I took the filter out. What tools do you need to remove and open up and clean a gen I starter?

1/4" socket set is just about all you will need.

Got a lot of sockets sitting around, can probably find a 1/4". Gonna go see what I can do if I'm still having trouble. Thanks!

Thats a 1/4" drive SET...not a 1/4" socket.

I think the socket you'll need is 1/2" or 12mm don't remember for sure though...

I think it's 12mm and 15mm, or maybe 13mm and 15mm...you will needa matric set for a 1/4 inch drive socket...and a good breaker bar most likely, unless you have alot tourque in your arms...

Well, just to update everyone, it looks like the starter died. I took it out and had auto zone test it. It was under warranty though, so I got it replaced for free.
