It's driveable. Runs on 7 cylinders but it runs. Well, I guess 6 and 1/2 when you count the low compression on #'s 3 & 4.

I was just tossing that out there. Don't feel obligated by any means. :) I know R&Ring the heads and valves could be a PITA and if it needs shims...that could be fun finding those. I do want a total teardown and rebuild - I don't EVER plan on forking out that kind of money for a gasket set ever again. I plan on keeping this car for a long time, especially since it only has 49k on it. I figure I might as well do it right this time and never have to do it again...

The only stipulation would be that I would probably need it back 2 weeks or so after dropping it off. That's probably the longest I could borrow my old car from my sis & bro-in law without them getting pissy. :)

That engine has shims, I may still buy all that is there. Block w/ bad head still on, good cylinder head removed (why?) and a wiring harness.

From a 96.

Speaking of Nebraska Football, I just shook Bo Pelini's hand. He was filling up his tahoe at the gas pumps and was having trouble with the card reader.

The orders haven't come down yet, but it's about a 99% sure thing that we'll be moving to Omaha (Offut). As soon as the word is official (within two weeks), I'm going to start job and house hunting. :)

The fiance promised me that I could get a 1080p projector to make a good home theater in a finished basement... I'm super-excited!

My brother was 99% sure about Offutt too, but just last month he found out that Whiteman AFB in KS will be his new home in May. The Air Force always has to throw in that damn curve ball. :snicker:

She was already matched up with the job. It'll be 100% when we get the paperwork.

BTW, Whiteman AFB isn't in Kansas. It is in Missouri. The Wing commander there for the A-10's is a good friend of the family and my dad ran into him last month. He helped my dad transition from the F-4 to the F-16's years ago.
