Chris and I worked on the tune today and got the car to run VERY well. In fact, it's now using all of its resources and may need more! I'm maxing out my Lightning 80mm MAF and 48# injectors at 5400+ ft altitude :oogle: The temperature is pretty cold here (20F), so that help with powers, but the altitude is still losing quite a bit.

I had to tighten the belt a little as I have only been hitting 12 - 13 PSI at 8k RPM, but now it is hitting 15 PSI at 7,500 RPM.

I'll be moving in 6 months to most likely Nebraska or Texas and I'm definitely going to need to upgrade :) I'll pick up a 90mm MAF and raise the fuel pressure on the injectors and see how well it does.

I guess it is time to get the car on the dyno.

Whats the reason for logging MAF volts vs kg/hr?

MAF voltage is an actual reading where as the kg/hr is a calculation of the measured volts and the curve you input. It is more accurate to monitor the voltage. With a bad curve, the kg/hr reading could read inaccurate (even go above the 1,500kg/hr this MAF can monitor).

Jason, just put a MAFia on it. No need to have to redo your ducting and all for the huge 90mm.

Sal, there is no need to modify the pipe; the 90mm will drop in with the correct adapter plate and hose on the opposing side.

Hey Jason, I just plugged the numbers into an online calculator. Depending on what BSFC you use, your car, at our altitude, was producing somewhere between 520 and 550 HP at the crank. Healthy!

That makes me happy, but it still feels slow! :) Just kidding... Though I get used to the power. Just trying to watch the boost gauge in 2nd gear and RPM was very difficult. It almost feels like you hit the nitrous button in the 2F2F movies... The street in front of you seems blurred when it is dark and you're scanning back and forth.

Thanks a bunch for your help today Chris. It gets tedious doing this by yourself. The car feels VERY nice now. Much more driveable and it doesn't have the issues these SC SHO's have. I owe you a beer or something! Don't forgive that motor mount bolt to Steve ;)

I can't believe I turned down a race that I knew I would have won... Some kids in a new Jeep SRT-8 tried racing Chris in his M3 when he wasn't ready, then tried to get him to race again. Chris told them that they should be trying to race the car behind him (me). They followed me to the house we were stopping at to ask me to race... I said no thanks and they said, "too bad, it would have been a good one". I agreed with them even though I know it would have been easy for me.

Congrats Jason - been waiting for you go get this in tune. I'm almost afraid of taking you on with the track SHO!

As much of a compliment that is, your track SHO would still **** me. I have no doubt about that. My car can't just break them loose in 3rd gear and keep roasting them (I can in 2nd though). When I tracked your SHO, I don't know if you remember (it's on video :)), I rolled onto the throttle in 3rd with those massive track tires and they broke loose.

Haha... Yeah, especially at 5,400 ft above sea leve where there is 22-25% less oxygen than sea level.

im new to the tweecer, but was your duty cycle at 95%?

You are correct.
