ok got the fuel figured out...now water pump..

Well, do you need the impeller or the whole water pump assy? Big difference in price and I would be very very picky about the O ring involved because if you put in the wrong one you'll be buing the whole water pump assy. Whats your problem with it anyway?

its leaking out of were the pulley snout is or what ever you call it but right were the pulley is and it sprays out all over the pulley...

so what was the fuel problem?

man this might not sound good but.......
i was putting a volt meter on the plugs getting power and then i wasnt getting the pump to run so i pulled the tank.. and then bench tested the pump and i was like wow it ran....... :nut: :nut: so i hooked the pump up again on ground and then it wouldnt run.. so i tested the wiring again and it had power.. then hooked the pump back up and the power droped to nothing... i was like ok... so i grabed some wire and wired a power wire around to the pump from the battery and the pump ran great... so i went and turned the car over and tada it ran.. so i got a relay, fuse and some more wire, wired up some wires and fuse and relay so i can run the pump when the key switch was on... and so far no probs.. besides this damn water pump..

Your going to need the new "O" ring anyway so make sure you get the right one! Otherwise the impeller when I looked it up last month will set you back between 75-150 dollars new......or something like that. If you use the wrong "O" ring you'll be set back 400-500 new if you break the ****** off the water pump housing like I did. Good luck to ya!

ill reuse my oring like i did on my rebuild and use rtv copper..... but thanks for the info...

no, where the outlet is to the block is the one I'm talking about. the pulley and impeller section get replaced as one part once you remove the 5 bolts, there should be a metal gasket/seal under that. shouldn't be anything there that will break off. i hope. I have a mildly use water pump impeller attached to a bad housing if you have trouble trying to find a new one. let me know.

I did something similar on my 1980 Chevy Luv 4x4. Truck sat for a winter, went out and the electric fuel pump was a no go. Yes, a factory electric pump on a 1980.

Anyways, found a line on the fuse block that came on with the key and wired it in from there and it ran great. You did way more work, as my truck was just a beater, but congrats on fixing it!
