Since I'm sure almost you haven't seen these, I'll post them up. I think it's one of the best written assemblies their is. It's Herman's from the Ontario SHO enthusiasts club SHOPower. The car has since been sold and the headlight sold to a US buyer.

All three versions of the headlights is written about Here

And the Projector level 5 units (the one's pictured above) Here

the language is pretty advanced as is a lot of the electrical stuff, but it is fairly well explained. Herman is one of the nicest car guys I know and has to be the most detailed!

The Toyota lights in the gen 2 are from an eighty seven four door sedan.
They are not glued in, but they are screwed in. It is not really much of a concern how they look from your point of view, because I am more interested
in how they illuminate the road in front of me. The reason that they sit too high in the front facia is because I am not commited to keeping this setup,
and therefore did very little mods to the front of the car. These lamps are not the ideal configeration for the SHO but the inital cost to me was zero.

werd,. I like the projectors covered up by those black covers.......

those impala lights look like ass on the car, too big and how the hood is now shaped completely kills the front end as a SHO, it now looks like some kind of 80's audi or SAAB.................

how about like the 1990-94 Acura Integra lights, I think they are slightly slimmer then the later ITR lights............

this sounds like a project I could do now with all my newfound glassing skillz

how about also the 90-93 Accords.... they have projector style aftermarket headlights for cheap....

...and the headlight sold to a US buyer.

Sold a couple times now, I had a shot at being the 2nd US owner - but the price was just too steep. They were sold on E-bay a while ago.

Yes he is :)

James, Herman's setup is actually fairly well known around these forums, and have been covered in several threads in the past. :)

Thanks Kris,
I only pop in and read some of the forums maybe once every 2 weeks so a lot on here passes me by. I'm really interested to see the development of this thread however.
Sorry again guys,
James

I have also made a set of projector headlights. No where near as complex as hermans but fully functional none the less.

I read alot of the data from the Herman setup.
it doesnt look that bad. The data supplied was of great detail, but i wouldnt call it too much. Better than putting together some plasitc box and a couple bulbs. The Guy thought about everything.
But, i like everone, dont have the kinda time to work on it. So whats the verdict on Projector headlights?
Anyone got a pretty easy or, as simple as it can get install plan?
I have to replace mine aswell. And the OEMS are not worth the death sentence. I was considerering putting in my Camaro Lights into it. I know between Depth and everything there isnt enough room. But. Those Lamps are BRIGHT! You never needed the high beams.

different strokes for different folks

your car's front end looks bad on a SHO, it looks like an 80's turbo coupe or something........ I've always thought of the SHO as a more sleeker car then those when you look at the entire picture........

that custom work put into that car with those headlights on a Turbocoupe or such would be badass..... but not a SHO......... good work tho

its just no picasso........

well its good, good work... just not the best thing for a SHO IMHO

its no masterpiece in my mind..... some people love it, and as you see it has won some awards........ but only thing as a judge I'd give it props for is the paint

Your car most certainly does NOT look like ass. Being different is a good thing and I give you an AAA+++ for going above and beyond with imagination and ingenuity. :thumb: :hail:

Thanks Beth... I'm all about constructive criticism, but to blatantly slam what I've done was uncalled for. I've got broad shoulders though, so if people are picking on me then it means they're leaving everybody else alone. :thumb:

The only ones I remember were Adam's Impala headlights.
I am looking for alternatives to gen 2 headlights because they are obsolete these days. I am strongly considering BMW e36 headlights because they look similar in shape, I will definitely need to do some custom work regardless but it would be worth it if I can get new housings
