what could cause hesitation in low gears

im looking at buying a 1993 green atx i am told it has hesitation in low gears and when parked I have had 3 instances that the battery has drained and would not start. the car has 124k on the clock and no maintenince records could oil in the plug wells cause the hesitation? how about the ac compressor clutch seizing up could that cause the dead battery?

Oil in plug wells can/will cause hesitation.

A/C clutch coil shoudn't cause batt drain.

what do you think could cause bat drain?

I know this isn't gonna help but it could be any thing electrical. I seen everthing from a pull out radio to a bad cell in the batt itself. Amp that's not being powered up by a keyed souce etc. Even bad CCRM. so as you can see it can be anything and everthing. Electrical grimlins are some of the most difficult, time consuming and agrivating things to work on.

now i talked with the person more and i am told that it sometimes slips when coming out of a stop so the only thing it could be is the tranny giving out correct?

I would suggest you walk away from that deal. Tranny rebuild is gonna cost over 2K alone.
