I see one offered by Cincy SHO and one by SHO brothers. Is one better than the other?

Any objective comments appreicated.

The SHO NUT mount offered by us ( or directly through SHO NUT ) is The Best. I'm not just trying to make a sale either....This is My Honest opinion.

Just do it yourself with some long bolts and a some sway-bar bushings from your local auto parts store.

One bolt per side right though the middle of the motor mount. takes about 2 1/2 hours to get it drill some holes and put it back in.

This is true but only valid for the EXTREME mount in my opinion. I have the regular reinforced mount and it still has a lot of movement. On a hard upshift, it pulled apart my catless y-pipe that had the exhaust clamps pretty damn tight. Maybe I broke the mount! :smash:

However, you have a way of reinforcing yourself or through someone like Tony at NTP that uses used motor mounts to reinforce as well. I've had mounts from Tony on my 89 SHO for YEARS and years of abuse...the best mounts I've ever had and will never need to replace. I use to go through mounts every other week it seemed before Tony helped me out with a set of his mounts. Speaking of that, it probably wouldn't hurt if I left feedback for them in the appropriate section.

Yeah, I saw that. Looks pretty good. It looks a little involved for what I was expecting to get into.

What's the end result?. Does it make the car real buzzy and noisy with lots of vibration?

Coupled with aluminum subframe bushings, you definitely notice more noise and vibes. But not so much that it effects a daily driver. ;)

I have the SHO NUT Extreme mounts in 2 of my SHO's. Daily driver has had them for 6+ years, and still look new. The green + has been purely ***** in every way since I bought it, and the mounts look new as well. You'd never know I was a fan/friend/supporter of Josh, huh?:laugh_ti:

Anybody tried the motor mounts offered at Rock Auto? They have both "solid" and "hydraulic" verisons, front and rear.

They may be mislabeled as fitting the SHO MTX. I don't know but they appear on their list as if they do. Just wondering.

motor mounts

i ordered from rock auto and there catalog was wrong. THEY DO NOT STOCK THEM. Heres your options, buy from ford, $150 plus, buy a used one $50, buy a reinforced one, $150 or take your old one and fix it yourself for cheap..

I think I might do that. Tony in post #5 suggested using swaybar bushings with a new bolt. I like that idea. It's easy and will limit movement without making the car really buzzy.

Anybody know how long that new 1/2" bolt needs to be? Looks like in the 6" range. I'd like to have this stuff ready to go.

Thanks!
