I'm sure I won't be the first to say this but MAINTENANCE! 60k's, rod bearings, suspension, brakes, anything that is not up to par. Then move on to mods if you have the cash. Good luck!

Yes i know what rod bearings are , and i know what 60k means. SOrry i didnt get in detail about myself , name is Rigel Live in south florida , I manage some adult shops , and work for county corrections. IVe always loved fords , but swtiched to gm for a while and bought a cadillac cts non-V. Thats pretty muched hooked up as far as i want to take it as sport lux. (only Sc'd non v running on the road:biggrin:) I also own a 74 ford gran torino elite. had a 95 thunderbird with a pi motor Supercharged.Im good at v8 fords Rwd and V6 gm cars Rwd . Wanted to try on a fW drive car from ford , and the focus is a little to small for me.So came across a sho for sale for 1,000. Got it for 800,and I'm here now. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :thumb:

Also just brought the car home , and checked under the car notice a little bit of what it appears to be is oil drops around the passanger side back motor near what it looks like to be a Cat. Any guess what it could be? The guy informed me there is a small power steering leak but would the main high pressure hose run back there? Any info can help me out thanks

Welcome to the nightmare! These cars are pretty unique. you may want to do a little research on them. Here are two really good sites with tons of info...

http://www.shophoenixproject.com/

http://www.shotimes.com/php-bin/

These two sites helped me out a lot when I got my car. The best resource I've found though is the search button at the top of this page. This is by far the best forum around for any vehicle! It has gotten me out of some pretty sticky situations and the people are fantastic. Good luck. :thumb:

I think we need to know miles on motor and transmission first before we offer advice. If you found a collectors piece with 12k on it well all you need to worry about is dried out seals. If you have one like mine with 149k when purchased you need to worry about everything that is SHO.
