Define rust free?

i saw a lot more than one spot...
and it wasn't sanded too well...

i hate bondo welding it works way better! bondo will hold moisture and it cracks really easy! not to mention if you dont prep it right pait wont stick!

Mike.. I do this kind of work all day. Maybe not on cars but on parts that are way more "high class?" The key to doing bondo work... or anykind of body work is.. you dont want to make more work for yourself. You tend to make things worse and also make it harder to fix the damage... or.. mistake.

rust free to me means that theres no rust forming at the seams - as thats the hardest to fix

but slight surface rust can be construed as rust free, as long as "rust free" is said in a casual way, if that makes any sense

if you cant get primer / paint to stick to bondo, there seriosly something wrong, you should never do bodywork again ... ever

or you should stop finishing your filler work to a high gloss ... buffers are for paint, not bondo

Rust free means no rust on the body, and nothing more than surface rust on the frame and suspension.

Now, "minor rust" is a tough one. I see ads proclaiming "minor" or "little" rust to be anything that you can't fit more than three fingers through.

me too, i think that before they go on with alternative fuels they should make cars out of materials that dont blemish... thats how much i hate rust

how about the stainless-steel delorian? (or however you spell it)
btw... the underside is stainless too... the things can sit in a field for YEARS and not even have a spot of rust
