Taurus was the guinea pig for so many features that were vastly improved later on. The heated front seats, for example. There are posts about it on the f150 forums but not a lot on the Taurus forums. I personally have them on all three of my vehicles, F-150 platinum, Explorer platinum and my Taurus and they are the worst by far on the Taurus. F-150 and Explorer massage alternating between the seat and the back, Taurus only does either or. F-150 and Explorer massage a lot harder, Taurus is a very mild “massage” to the point where sometimes I forget that it’s even on.
And it shows. I spent a year looking for my Taurus with the options I wanted and it feels like a much less refined version of my other vehicles. Runs great and is a blast to drive but the convenience features feel like the prototype versions of my other cars.Taurus was the guinea pig for so many features that were vastly improved later on. Post pictures please of the apim. Identifying indicators. I just purchased a sync 3 upgrade and was SUPER irritated when I saw it was drop shipped out of china. Tried to cancel the purchase and was denied. I’ll be contesting the purchase if it’s anything other than the “genuine ford parts” that was advertised (I know they won’t be genuine).Interesting. I just received my Chinesium Sync 3 upgrade kit for my SHO. I hope your issues don't surface with my car.
[added] Just looked again at what I received. Assembled in Mexico 06/12/2020. FoMoCo is embedded, not sticker. Part number comes back as APIM. I hope this is a good sign. Phew.
