One of my radio pre-sets went black, and it won't come back. I tried putting another station at that location but it wouldn't accept it. Can this be fixed or is this a sign that the radio is about to give up

Which version do you have (Sync 1, 2, 3)? I know it's basic, but have you tried rebooting it, as in performing the reboot function, not just powering on/off? My car has occasional BT issues that are resolved temporarily when I reboot.

How is the reboot function performed? It's the stock radio as installed in a '14 SHO, probably a sync 1
You should have Sync 2 I believe. If you don't have Android Auto, and you don't have physical buttons to control the AC, then it's Sync 2 for sure.

On my Sync 1, if I go to media settings, like I'm going to play music through BT, there's a reboot button. It may be different on yours.

You may also want to check the model # and software version. You could have an available update. I had to load the update on a SD card and manually update mine to enable that reboot button. Again, things could be different with yours.

Good news is if you do have Sync 2 and you decide to replace the radio for any reason, you have the option to swap in a Sync 3 radio and get Android Auto.

I got it back. Went under the dash and pulled the fuse. Waited a couple of minutes, reinstalled the fuse and put in all my pres-sets. It accepted all of them, even the one that went black. I'm not into upgrading the radio, I just want it to work as it is supposed to.
