I have a question about adjusting the rear trunk lid bump stops on my car. Obviously I have gone ahead & installed another decklid from the same year and color taurus. All is good but I have to "slam" the trunk shut for it to latch completely. Would this be a latch assembly adjustment issue or the rubber bump stops on the bottom? I fear damaging something in the process. Gaps are so-so but any advice would be greatly appreciated! Pic for a reference point.

The easiest thing to do would be to remove the bumpers and see what happens.

Im Sure that would cause paint damage without a cushion. I turned them both clockwise about a 1/2 turn. It seemed to work.
