Accelerating through the gears yes it would be faster, but these cars shift like hot dog water even when tuned and if you went to a high final drive it would just be negated from having to shift so often. My car has a final drive swap in it that isn't the 2.77 or 3.16 and it made first gear essentially useless. Not to mention tune issues out the bum getting the car to shift and handle the shifts. It's a whole mess I wish I wouldn't had done, but once it's dialed it'll be juicy.
