Hello everyone. I believe the PTU is going to say bye bye soon on my '13 PI Turbo. I have changed the fluid two times in about 1500 miles using Redline
but it is still is making a relatively quiet(right now) humming noise. No other clunks or the reverse hanging issues I have read about yet.

I am planning on going OEM as all the aftermarket ones scare me. Looking back at previous threads I can't believe how much the price has gone
up on OEM ones. I realize inflation is off the charts but they seem to be almost double what they were a few years ago.

Does anyone ever come across promo codes or discounts for the online sites like Tasca, Levittown Ford Parts, etc? My local dealer is absolutely the worst
to deal with so unfortunately they won't work with me.

Thanks! Any suggestions would be great.

Soooo I would possibly suggest another route, though it sounds like new is the way you are leaning, how about www.car-part.com and a "newer" 2017+ PTU from a wreck? They have to list ODO miles, just a thought.

I'll take a look. Might work out even though it sounds like some have failed even with lowish miles on them.

Found one out of a 2018 SHO with the performance package. Has 55k on it. Seems cheap enough so might grab it.

Think I should be concerned with the oily look around the vent tube?View attachment 89518
What year did it come out of, all I can say drain and clean that oil - even buy extra gear oil, and drain out the drained fluid. Get all the metal out of that before putting it back in. I have many threads where certain year would clog - the vent tube would become clogged and allow for pressure to build up. Start searching threads here, many recent posts tbh.

I had a humming at speed. Thought it was the PTU. Replaced it. Drove it again and still had the humming. It was my wheel bearings.

Anyone can post a pic of the vent tube - it's near the master cylinder I take it?

Pic of the vent tube or pic of the location? The top of the vent is near the intersection of the rear head, engine block and transmission.
