How to replace ATX on a SHO?

Great post. Seems like i need SHO specific AX4S transmission due to gear ratios

I see. But just to ask, is AX4S found in SHO vehicle specific with own gear ratios? I can`t use transmission from a Taurus/Sable with Vulcan 3.0 engine?

I don't know about other transmissions, you would need to do a search to see if anyone has tried that or wait to see if anyone else here knows

After a lot of time spent in google, yes the AX4S in SHO have bespoke gearing and even have a certain transmission code. So if i use AX4S from another Ford product i end up with gear ratios that is not suited.

That sounds correct. This is the issue with old, niche, low production run vehicles.
