Hey guys! So I have 3 issues, all pretty minor but definitely annoying, and with winter coming up I’d like to see if I can fix them!

1. My rear defrost isn’t working. When I hit the rear defrost button, it lights up, but it never does anything. Fuse?

2. My heated and AC seats stopped working randomly one day. When I hit either the heated or AC seat button, it automatically goes to the 2nd setting (medium) and doesn’t work. As we all know, usually it goes to the hottest setting initially. Rear heated seats work fine and heated steering wheel works fine. Fuse?

3. My front cigarette lighter under the radio doesn’t work. But the other two work fine. Fuse?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

swing by autozone, or whatever is closest, and pick up a fuse tester. I think I paid like $4 for mine. They’re pretty handy, you just touch the pins to the top, and a little LED lights up if the fuse is good.

Update - I checked the fuses. The cigar lighter was indeed a bad fuse, but the rear defrost and climate control seats fuses lit up. So any other suggestions to see what the issue may be? I’d rather do everything I can before I take it into a dealership and have them charge up the a** just to tell me I need new seats. I feel like there could definitely be other things wrong/disconnected. Any help is appreciated!

Does the rear glass have electrical tabs and a grid like older cars? Is there voltage to the rear defrost grid?

Didn't someone find a wiring harness/bundle pinched in one of the bolts for the seat brackets to the floor? Like an assembly error or something?

Yes when I push the rear defrost button, it lights up. And yes, if I know what you mean, there is an older grid like older cars - has the orange lines or whatever.

Check to see if there is power at the grid or maybe the grid has a small break or two on the glass to keep power from circulating. That is the old school way. Newer cars seem to have a few more electrical fuses and relays in the way in addition to possible wire issue. Do you have a wiring diagram to use? IF you suspect the wiring is an issue you can use a diagram to trace it and probe from front to back or vice/versa
