Should we have a section called "Generation 4.5" for the 2013+ SHOs?

Bumper covers are body panels because they literally cover the whole front and rear of the car. They are not interchangeable. I digress though. Moving on to the hood. Different. Trunk lid. Different. Did you just forget about the trunk lid?

Oh wait...I remember you from the forum. As for your other opinions on the 5th Gen and claims of inferiority complex that is laughable. We get it, you own a 4th Gen, but deep down you want a 5th Gen. The joke is literally on us....we own A Taurus.

On a complete other topic, if you love chrome so much...why did you paint your's silver?
Bumper covers are way easier to manufacture than body "panels". That is my point that is lost on you. Is not the trunk lid just cut different for the taillights? That's an easy die modification at FoMoCo, hardly a new body panel. The rear fender cut outs for the taillights, same deal. It is not like the difference between a first generation 67 and 69 Camaro. That is a different body panel. What part of my chrome is painted again? All of my black plastic was painted body color before I bought it. That's it. No, I own a pre-face lift Gen 6.

Look who is the first to chime in on the inferiority complex though!

I specifically avoided the 10-12 when looking for a SHO. Just the crappy brakes alone and Sync whatever version made my decision. I don't really consider them to be different "generations", though.

I agree on the brakes. The 2010-2012 factory brakes shouldn't even be legal. Easy upgrade to 2013+ brakes though.

It's never mattered what Ford called it. To them, all of 86-95 is their Gen 1. We split it because of the minor differences, but the Forum and Facebook groups leave them together.

Differences between the Gen 4 & 5 EcoBoosts are exactly like the Gen 1& 2 minor differences. Not worth splitting for the measly handful of SHOs built over those two timespans totaling 21 years. Absolutely irrelevant what the Mustang, Corvette, Camaro or Yugo clubs do.

Before and after @802SHO beat the record for quickest quarter mile ecoboost powered sho I had always advocated for 10-12 and 13+ having seperate records because, in my opinion, there is enough changes to justify two seperate generations.

I didn't continue to be public about this after the Andrew beat the quickest record as, well it would look extremely narcissistic as it would make me a 1 of 2 quickest record holder again. I wouldn't want to take any of Andrew's storm away from him in that way and I don't care enough to advocate for that.

Anywho with that being said gen4/5 have ample differences to give each their own distinguished generation.

Because not enough people care. We have a section for GenI and GenII combined. Why? because they are still similar enough to do that. Event horizon on the left...
Touche, old sport! I meant in technical terms, but oh well. I lose.

Back when Beth ran the board I suggested that we combine the general discussion for all general, but she demurred. I still think it was a mistake to have a general discussion forum for the newer cars and one for the older cars, but c`est la vie.

(Oval window SHOs, there's the door;) )

In my 21 years or so of participating in 40-50 message forums on these here interwebs, some more than others and some just reading without posting, the one's that start adding more forums just become disjointed and some lose members over time. The "other" forum comes to mind. What a ghost town.

I agree. Also the other site isn't user friendly either.
