Hello,
I recently bought a 95 SHO ATX with 180k on it and while it is at my mechanic getting some needed gaskets/seals work done, I am going to try to do some research on something I found odd about the car.
I have a copy of the original window sticker and it shows that the car has the luxury convenience group with Keyless Entry from the factory (and the sunroof, dual power seats and JBL audio upgrade). I am using what appears to be an OEM RKE fob and when you want to start the car, you must press the unlock button and get the confirmation "chirp" of the security system before attempting to start the car or the starter will not engage. From my research, this appears to be more of an aftermarket effect, not an OEM situation as it does not appear that the factory OEM system included a starter disable feature (thank you forum search feature). I also noticed that the driver's door lock does not work (cannot physically move the locking mechanism, it appears stuck) and the number pad on the exterior of the driver's door for remote entry is also non-responsive.
I am going to start this process by further examining the driver's door lock, but any thoughts or ideas before I get my ride back and can start digging further?
Thank you!
