Went in the shop yesterday because I've been smelling burning rubber and motor oil ever since I had my timing chain + water pump done. I was also leaking small amounts of oil.

Luckily, they found a seal by the timing cover that was torn. They ended up replacing it and giving me a fresh oil change for free.

Weighed the car yesterday in my "daily" mode.

No back seats, no trunk stuff, 3/4 door panels out, no center console.. Any guesses? Considering these cars weigh 4300-4500 stock stock I was pleasantly surprised but it's not extremely light by any means.

I'll post the results probably in a couple days.

Hmm. Assuming a full tank factors into curb weight - at what, 6# per gallon of gas? ... my crude calculations have me only estimating 120-130 less. 4220-30ish? (****, I don't know!)

But you say pleasantly surprised? As was I when I weighed my biscuit-eatin' 2009 C63 on the Atlantic Moving & Storage scale. A 4040 lb. compact sedan. Kinda husky. Big-boned. But still stock.

Final guess? A Popeye's Big Family Feast away from 4075 ... the winning curb weight.

Goes froma 6-3, 245 linebacker to 6-3, 228 lb. all-purpose safety. Every bit as strong, but now damn near cornerback-fast & agile, and can still concuss you like a 'backer. Pick your poison stop-light posers ... roughly:
Lawrence Taylor or (should be in the HOF) Rodney Harrison? :omgsho:

I say be afraid of the lightened & tuned SHO.
