Anyone know anything about these TBs?

Honestly SHOs are going 11.0x on the stock throttle body. Really no need to upgrade, and if you are looking to spend that much money you can get the BBK unit which is larger than this and only a few dollars more.

Thought the 73mm didn't fit the sho, some modding needed? This platforms aftermarket mod diversity is pretty small.

The 70mm bbk throttle body barely leaves any material on the intake manifold as is when you port match it

What is the red intake manifold I see John using on his Explorer Sport? Does that have a larger port that would work well with the 70mm bbk?

For real!?!? I thought it was different. With the clear vacuum lines and all I thought it was something special.

It's got direct port methanol installed on it?

the 73mm the 3.7L Mustang and F-150 use won't fit our cars. We use the 70mm from the 05-09 Mustang 4.0L

John is running the BBK. He has a video on how he made the centering dowels to bolt it up.

Damn, I've been absent for a bit from the forums...I feel kinda famous! HAHA.

Yeah, the manifold is just powdercoated a flat, textured red. Was going for the Type-R look, LOL.

As for the TB, yeah, as @Jordan_R mentioned, there isn't much room to open up the manifold without chewing into the groove lands for the o-ring seal. I guess you COULD just open it WAY up, then hammer out your own gasket. Wouldn't be too terribly difficult.

Write-up:

I'm still on the fence about how much there is to gain from it though. Definitely nothing without a tune, so...

Stock is 65mm BTW.
