Guys....chill the f**k out.

My logical conclusion........

If I was a vendor/trans builder and I partnered with a high horsepower build on a questionable trans I would ask for secrecy as well. We all know the 6f55 is hit and miss. Mike's stock one lived, mine didn't. Hit and miss.

As the builder I would like to know that my product would be able to produce in a real world application. Once I felt that was criteria was met, then I would go public. I wouldn't want to go public before, then have Mike's new motor completely grenade my product. It protects me and Mike. However, if it holds up and preforms then I have that ace in my pocket tried and true.

Kinda my thought here honestly. It's a leap of faith, and the builder may not want the build sheet out there for a ton of people to copy if it ends up not working and he gets blamed for a bunch of failures, it could be bad for his business.

I'm more eager to see how this goes, and hopefully once it's back together and successful it'll be the Level 11 transmission we've all been waiting for, then mixed with the PTU and RDU upgrades we're looking at producing we can start targeting that 1000hp SHO that Jack Lane has been touting for the past decade...

I think you guys are all missing the point here. And, frankly, I can't disagree with you more on this one @FiveLeeter918 (respectfully, of course). There are lots of leaps of faith being made by many here. @bpd1151 motivation is selfish, pure and simple. I know I am the unpopular one in this instance, I get it, but I'm calling it for what it is. Just because he's been here for awhile means we give him a pass and tip toe around him, placing him on some pedestal? No, I'm not the one for that, never will be. I can honor and respect those who came before me, but have no problem calling a flag on the play if needed. My prediction? His transmission is a big nothing-burger...because all of us know (including you @FiveLeeter918 ) what's going on with this platform currently and many of the players who are making moves to progress this transmission and none of it is any real big secret. So, I'm guessing it's a factory refresh with WPC and Cryo...which would be fine with me had he just said that. We all know how little there is for this trans and what little can truly be done, so why the big secret? We all would never fault him for having to stick with a factory refresh, not much else can be done, currently, quite frankly. Sounds a lot to me like pride is involved here...and too much of it.

Friction plates are on the way later this year, Adam (Ford Flex record holder) and you are working some angles with WaveTrac to see if they can push out an LSD for the trans, Steve from AKD is working with Colin (Ford Edge record holder) on a billet RDU viscous coupler with plates as well as an LSD for the rear. Steve is also working with @Caden who sent him his PTU on seeing what mods can be made there and @Caden also got the ball rolling with MountTune on a possible case brace for the PTU (and I believe he's passed the baton onto you as well Lee).

So lots of moving parts with folks making attempts at pushing the platform forward...in a group setting. With many of these components currently being addressed, there isn't much left to have a secret about. What? WPC and Cryo? That tech has been around for decades...nothing new. Changing gearing? Many of us have had this discussion on various media platforms figuring ways to possibly get the 3.43 gears out of an XLT into this thing or if you want to go the other direction, the 2.76 from non-PP SHO (if you got the 3.16). So that discussion is already out in the open.

Unless he had Sadev gut the 6F55 and completely replace internals (not feasible, I know, but just for the sake of argument), I'm not going to be impressed at all when we finally find out what his "secret sauce" is. Which makes him holding this secret even MORE weird...it's not going to be earth shattering...

I would LOVE for this to be some magic recipe to help elevate this platform up, but I just don't see it, not anything worth keeping hush-hush secrets about, at least. No one wants me to be wrong more than myself and I genuinely wish him the best.

Daily lurker here because I typically don't have much to add since I don't dump hours and dollars into my SHO. I was so excited to see a few new pages on BPD's build thread hoping to see some big moves.

Boy was I disappointed to see its nothing but entitlement and complaining to someone who is honoring the wishes of his vendor. I like this forum because its usually just some good info without all the drama but people saying they're not upset then spending an hour typing up a post to everyone that disagrees is comical.

Let's bring some good vibes for a change. Good luck with the rest of the build BPD, you've always answered all the small guys' question, given great recommendations, and kept it fun with your build. I'm another one to add to the list of someone who was inspired to buy a SHO after seeing your build and I couldn't be happier. I still have the picture of your car saved next to the first picture I took of mine in the lot three years ago. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend and I'm excited to see what you're able to put together later this year.

Gents, we had to do a little cleanup of the derailment that happened this weekend.

Its perfectly fine to be unhappy that Mike is not sharing the details of his transmission work. Its not okay to get into personal attacks because of being unhappy about that.

The point of this thread is him sharing his build, in however much detail he is willing / able to share. Please keep the focus there moving forward.

@ Ecoboost_xsport .....

No need to get annoyed. I was asked not to disclose. I'm honoring that request. Simple as that.

And as far as you (& any others) sharing things.... my reputation in this platform, as well as sharing of info, write ups, etc. long precedes you and most other newer owners.

So don't feel obliged to elevate yourself upon a pedestal there my friend.

Finally, there are a multitude of influencing factors that have kept the platform from advancing. Most of which have absolutely nothing to do with individual owners.

That's been prevalent since the 1st GEN SHO's have rolled out. Ask any of those (term used loosely) "older" GEN owners.

Stay safe and keep having fun motoring along. I follow you and others likewise.

You are good man Charlie Brown. Keep your word and your honor, and flick off those that are jealous. You already help and share enough for others to be grateful for your input.

My latest update. - I keep losing time in my 2-3 gear shift, since the adding the GH intercooler, and still not back to full capacity with the tuning with the intercooler addition. But now I am still running in the 1.85 for my 60ft even with the tire pressure recommendations of 28 psi in the front and 40 in rear, but still not to the full tune yet either.

Go ahead and put this in a different thread where more gearheads will see it and lend a hand. “So what have you done to your Sho today” should work.

Are you hitting a torque limiter by chance? Have you logged to see why it's so laggy?

Rehash the drama and post an irrelevant update to your car in someone’s build thread, nice! It’s kinda hard to help without any previous context. Your 60’ times aren’t terrible. Draggy is not accurate at all if that’s what your using to measure 60’ times.

Dragy is extremely accurate, the road and prep is not realistic for track expectations though. I think that's what you were trying to say :)

I dunno, when running draggy at the track both the ET and 60’ times are both noticeably slower than the the time slips.

Idk I'd say it's extremely accurate within a tenth, but in every aspect like sixty foot is "within a tenth" as well as quarter mile is "within a tenth" which I guess means sixty foot is less accurate then the quarter mile then? LOL.. I think I've gotten a 1.6-1.7 sixty foot on dragy maybe twice compared to what I get on the slip, but you don't get the shallow stage benefit on dragy like you would in real life.

You have absolutely no context, as you have no clue of the conversations that Mike and I have, nor do you need help anyone with any previous context. The post was directed to provide him with an update, as he made some recommendations to me a while back with some other great people on this forum.

Not using Draggy, as I am using the dragstrip, as that is the only place I can get traction.
