Here's the cat that I still need to remove plus I need to see if I can flip that motor upside down so it's not hanging down

Thanks! Are you the Amazing Kreskin?? I did get a quote. But....we’ll have to see!
Lol it just seemed like natural progression. Who did you get the quote from, was it zencarbonfiber on IG? I love the wheel on the Explorer ST with the flat/square bottom. The SHO steering wheel is so mundane!

Yep. That’s exactly who it was. Not sure if any require it, haven’t looked that deep into it yet, but I like that with him there’s no need to send in a core or post a deposit. Not like both vehicles are pressed into service much lately. But still. In addition to seeing that design on the Ex, ST I also watch a lot of the custom builders on MotorTrend, formally Velocity Channel. They use those a lot there as well.

Modified the shifter. Researched (sounds better than copied) another member’s (Nova) shifter. Brings a little of the exterior color inside with a nod to the old style hot rods.

Nothing personal, but I really think that shifter looks ridiculous. You replaced a matching, functional, leather-covered shifter with a cue ball?

I think the desire for individuality is the mother of all customization. Regardless whether someone likes or dislikes a certain modification, it still moves the platform and industry forward.

I’m certain there was a lot of people that didn’t like the front mount intercooler made popular by certain members.

Not to mention the color/wrap choices owners have decided on.

Along with completely stripped “race car” interiors on a luxury sedan platform.

At the end of the day everyone has their preference of what a particular vehicle should be/represent. But support for the platform should be universal whatever the mods.

Cheers.

Who didn't like the FUNCTIONAL fmic? This shifter is for a Mustang, BTW. I'm not sure how that is "supporting the platform".

Whatever. It's his car and he can, obviously, do whatever he wants with/to it. I just think it looks stupid and doesn't improve the car in any way. It's like installing a Diablo 93 tune on it.

I don't like stripping a SHO out, either, but at least it makes sense if you are trying to set a record. Maybe those guys need to save some additional weight and install a cue ball. I'm getting some curb feelers for mine.
