I drive a 2010 Nissan frontier, equipped with a sentra 4 banger, which is easilly the size of my dads old f150, which had a v8.

That frontier has no balls. I believe its too,g capacity is, like, 300lbs.

Well got a quick update from my engine builder. Got everything essentially ready for assembly. Mains need checked and that's all there is to it. However, he's currently being quarantined as he was exposed so just gotta wait it out. Don't really care as it's cold as all get out in my garage anyways so not really excited to drop a motor in anyways ha! Other than that I have reinstalled some wiring harnesses and moved some things around. Repositioned the car for the motor to be put in and just waiting. Really happy I had some time to work on the car these last couple months. Really got some side projects I had finished up with it as you guys have seen and well maybe not seen... I gotta come into this next season with more secrets than just my curb weight I guess.

I honestly haven't looked too too hard.

And for today's adventure!! Cut up the bumper for more cooling. With my new crash bar nice and tight just before the top grill I figured I'd take a moment and optimize some cooling potential.

I would add a couple fangs on each side. That would look mean.

So something different between the blocks here..

Old block has a freeze plug on this portion just below the water pump and new one doesn't? Figure should probably plug that up before installation lol

Did you just end up plugging it?
Well, sadly, this was a project I had outsourced, so I didn't do it myself. Ryan made sure that was done. He took tons of photos of the build and I didn't realize that he hd sent me that pic I posted of my build. I never understood why he focused in on that spot, but since you put up your post, it made total sense. He wanted to show that he had it plugged, so that there is no question later.

Perfect. Yeah I was comparing the blocks and was like shit I guess I should do that too. So I'll have to get that done.

However the short block is almost done! Unfortunately we had a huge mishap on the last piston and one of the oil rings got boogered. So I've got another set of rings coming from @FiveLeeter918 today. It's Christmas time and I'm waiting on a couple gaskets and other last minute stuff so I can't say it'll effect timing or anything. My engine builder had never messed a ring up so he was pretty mad about it and offered to pay for the rings. It was an innocent mistake so I'm not stressed about it by any means but here's a sneak peak. Almost there!

Christmas present to me! Lol!

Inspired by @Ecoboost_xsport picked up some pipe insulation and saw the pipe wrap insulation tape. These will go over my already ceramic coated coolant pipes to keep the intake manifold and intake runners on the heads from receiving any thermal transfer of heat!

Also picked up some ****** bolts for the exhaust manifolds so I don't have to deal with the pesky studs. Part numbers at AutoZone (left) and oreillys (right) for anybody else interested

Looks good. That insulation looks like the foam stuff. The Depot/Lowes has dense-cell rubber that will be able to take the heat better. I'd be worried that foam will melt.

But yeah, wish I would've done the lower pipe, but now that the heads are on, I can't take it out.

One of those life lessons, I guess. LoL

But the real credit goes to @mrhighcaliber for this mod...I got the idea from him.

The insulation is from Lowes. Couldn't find anything else, but I wouldn't be opposed to figuring something else out. I bought a size too small so had to "make it work." Figure with the ceramic coat it shouldn't be too too hot, but I am all ears!
