I talked to Matt yesterday with all the modifications and upgrades I put into my car he highly suggest that I upgrade the fuel pump to get all the benefits out of everything I did to the car. Now I just need to find an EVO 35 fuel pump at a good price hopefully this will be my last purchase part..

I knew you'd end up with the HPFP! It's a great piece!

I wasn't planning on that right now I still need a tune and SCT device and my budget is getting low. I still have to pay the shops to fabricate my exhaust system, custom-made hoses for the oil coolers and make 2 pipes for the turbos tubes plus the mechanic for doing all this work that he's just about to start this week had to wait 7 days for the rest of the parts to come in from Ford. That engine builder only send me half the parts for the timing chain set up. I had to dish out an extra $300 for Ford for the rest of the parts. So there's a lot to think about to try to stay on budget.
This job started with a simple engine swap then it turned into a monster. These cars are not a simple Plug and Play with parts either you have to modify or make a part yourself which is kind of fun but it does get expensive. Anyone out there thinking they're going to go balls to the walls with these cars be prepared it will put a big dent in your bank account. The money I spent so far I could have just went out and almost put half down payment on a new SHO and drove it off the lot. .

100% agree. I am finally at the point where I have paid for the majority of the parts other than the machine work and the ceramic coating I need to get done. It's painful on the bank account for sure..

If I had a dollar for every person who said they were going to beat my 11.08 time I'd have a complete build and one person to do it...being @802SHO

The rate of return on mods/money to power/reliability goes downhill so fast in these cars. Tune and supporting mods come very cheap to begin with, but exponentially increase in price for the rate of return. Got to find the happy medium. I honestly wouldn't recommend trying for low 11s to anybody who doesn't have a wallet to match, even at that I could have bought a mustang or a better platform and done it for a lot cheaper. Tune you max out your hpfp so gotta keep it tame, upgraded hpfp you max out your turbos decreasing their reliability and turbos you max out your internals. Realistically seems like there is no good stopping point for these cars. Shame really.

It is a lousy investment. Investing money in a failing stock. It’s all about how much money are you willing to lose. Compared to a house where you can build equity.

That's the problem with someone new to modifying vehicles... it's not an investment. I should say rarely is it an investment. Some professional automotive restoration shops can turn them for profit, but not even all of those.

Its an investment into your knowledge, skills, and experience.

Never wasted, but the ROI might not be to everyone's liking. Individual results may vary.

It’s thrilling/exciting and fun...risky and at least we have something to show for our money spent...still better than losing money on a serious gambling habit or drug habit!
BTW this is each of them! we are gambling it stays together and more power you just got to habit!

Right? Just throw all the parts at it and go to the track one time and they run the time they think it should run.

Oh wait, that happens never.

At least he admitted what he ran. Most before him just move on to another platform without stating a reason other than 'these cars are junk and not worth modifying'.

Still waiting on the pink pepto sho to run the 10 that he said he was going to do this summer. That thread was even after he already blew up the first motor trying to get it dialed in.
