nope, after my 2011 Mustang was totalled I kept the brakes and trying multiple bracket orientations it just never could work. Several have tried the CTSV calipers but geometry just isn't there unless you machine the knuckle.

@aaron240 developed a set of brackets to allow the Aero4/6 Wilwood calipers to fit. I have one of two sets currently in existence, but they come at a pretty steep price point that scares most people away.

not phyisically possible.

Considering that the TCE big brake kit is like $5,000 it seems to me that we have a lot of wiggle room for some custom work. I'm going out to start taking the car apart right now and I will see what I can come up with. I don't plan on dropping five racks on some big brakes anytime soon though. If you have any suggestions please let me know. No suggestion is too race car.

For a big brake kits $5k really isnt that much honestly, especially considering that that is all 4 corners.

Now the is it necessary question is a better one. Id wager a guess that on a road course the brake fade on stock brakes would slow down your fun after a couple laps.

The car weighs over 4,000 lbs. I want to go to a 4 piston caliper with the same size rotors. That hardly seems like overkill. Especially after a few 60-130-60 pulls.

I realize that 5k might be on the low end but it just bothers me that nobody has even tried for a low buck bbk over the last 10 years that the car has been out. And what about the fact that I don't want to go with 15-in brake rotors? Those things probably weigh like 30 f****** pounds. I like the 14-in brakes that come on the Taurus, I would just like a little bit better caliper and maybe some style points while I'm at it.

And to answer your question of "is it necessary?" To me it's not even a question. When my car is running good it is under some pretty intense conditions.

You realize that almost everything weighs over 4000 lbs in the automotive industry?

Chargers, challengers, camaros, mustangs, Mercedes, audi, BMW, and that's actual sports cars...but if you look at luxury 4door sedans... Which is where I think the SHO is designed to fit... It is right where it should be.

If you wanted a vehicle for extreme driving... You wouldn't mod the lawnmower... Or would you?

There is a 4 piston wilwood caliper that is cheaper than the 6 piston aero 6 I designed for Lee. I have brackets also designed for the wilwood super-light 4 caliper. These are cheaper than the 6 piston but still an improvement over stock caliper. It still utilizes oem 14” front rotors. The brackets cost $450 to have manufactured out of high strength steel and that’s without shipping or any money in my pocket. I could have more made but there isn’t enough interest to make a group buy or so it seems.

So remind me how this is overkill again? Of every performance vehicle you just named they all have minimum 4 *** brakes except the sho. And you realize you're on a forum with more than one 600+ horsepower Taurus. You have posted 2 hater posts in a row. Are you going to actually add anything to the conversation besides a wet noodle?

Ps: have you looked up racing lawn mowers?

The rotor hats on the TCE Kit are aluminum, so it’s probably a lot lighter than you think.

Could you maybe offer some insight on how you engineered the bracket? I am open to paying big bucks for some brackets if I can get into some big brakes for less than the $2,500 that TCE wants for their front kit. However I think it would probably be better if I just fabricate a couple one-off brackets for my own build.

Our kit came in at $1699 not including rotors with 6 piston calipers, BP20 pads, stainless lines, Aaron's brackets and hardware. I run my kit with the R1Concepts slotted rotors and love it. As Aaron said, the 4 piston option can drop pricing by another $200-300.

Test shots, ignore the sloppy G2 caliper paint and the uncoated brackets. Final product was black anodized.

As he sits with both his feet up at his desk
Smokes a bag of his weed
And starts imagining things
And he just can't see that he's manically depressed
And in his jealousy and envy
It just whirls him in a frenzy
He don't exist in this world
So he just twists and he twirls
Spirals and spins 'til he hurls himself into a rage
And it's destroying him slowly
'Cause he does not even know me
Even though he sees me everywhere he goes
So he just tortures himself, he has no fortune and wealth
So he extorts someone else to get his dough
And now he's acting like a bully so he tries to push and pull me
But he knows that he can't fool me so he's mad
And he has no choice but to scream and raise his voice up at me
'Cause it annoys him to see that I ain't scared

Those racing lawn mowers aren't used for anything else.
I had a SHO and I drove it hard every day. I liked it as a stoplight bully and on road trips. If they make a new one with proper drive train, I'll buy it.

P. S. All those cars are sports cars meant to be driven fast. Don't hate on me because Ford short changed you. On second thought, I need some entertainment so bring it on.

So how are four pots off a Mustang GT overkill again?
